Prof. Thomas Ebert is an endocrinologist / diabetologist and clinical scientist in Medical Department III (Endocrinology, Nephrology, Rheumatology) at the University of Leipzig, Germany. He also works in the Division of Renal Medicine, Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.

Prof. Ebert has published over 170 papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at EASD and ADA annual congresses. His research interests are cardiometabolic complications of obesity, pathogenesis and novel therapeutic approaches for DKD, biomarkers of metabolic syndrome and its complications and insulin resistance.

He is a member of DDG and part of its diabetes and kidney working group and involved in the EFSD future leaders programme.
