Dr. Johnny Chan is currently the Director of Dermatology, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. Before commencement of his private practice in February 2016, he had served as the Clinical Assistant Professor and the Chief of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine at Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) since 2013.

Dr. Chan obtained his medical degree from HKU. Subsequently, he pursued his dual specialty training in Dermatology and Advanced Internal Medicine at University Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. Dr. Chan completed his training in Dermatology and Venereology in 2012.

Dr. Chan’s main areas of research interests include clinical phenotypes and pharmacogenomics of severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs) to drugs, and long-term systemic complications of, and novel therapies for psoriasis. He has been actively involved in clinical trials and has published widely in international peer-reviewed journals. Further to his interests in clinical researches, Dr. Chan maintains an active role in the undergraduate, postgraduate and public health education on subjects related to dermatology and medicine.
